telling tales of past years

some of which may or may not be true

telling tales of happier times

some of which may or may not be true

There's an old man, supping his whiskey

his mind and joints are failing now

and the past true or not is a better place to be

There's an old man supping his whiskey

listening to the clock ticking his life away

knowing there is more time gone

than what lays ahead

Age has given him peace

giving him wisdom

giving him love

made him the man he

could be

So he tells his tales of life known and unknown

for that is what we all do eventually

There is an an old man supping his whiskey

that much is true
